same with a kitten, same with rabbits, could you kill live mice, rats and other small creatures by putting them in a deep freeze for snake feed! thats what one pet shop owner has been accused off in my area! this person was in court recently and literally got off scot free due to stupid stupid red tape personnel!! How can people who do evil things beyond belief sleep at night. From their stance these were sick animals that needed disposing off to make way for the healthy ones to sell for profit. There was even a headline in our local paper of suspected shootings at a farm connected to this case! For the animals its like living in a medieval society, where is the justice?

This is sometimes what happens when people see animals as objects to own, buy, and sell, rather than living creatures who deserve a certain quality of life. They are inventory, in a way, to be liquidated or disposed of if they can't be sold.
Not everyone who deals with animals treats them cruelly. I want to make that clear. But some people do seem to be devoid of empathy for the pain, suffering, and fear of living creatures.
It is frightening to me that these things happen, not only because of what has happened to the animal - but it also makes me worry for any human being who might be dependent on this person and vulnerable. If you can torture an animal without a second thought, it's probably an easy step up to a child or someone else in the family.
Some cities and states have very stringent animal cruelty laws and people do get prosecuted. I don't know if the punishment is equal to the severity of the crime in some cases, but there is some justice out there. Problem is, getting people to report it, and getting the proof needed to prosecute.
It's horrible, I know.

That's terrible. I could never hurt an animal. What sort of society are we living in? Someone I knew saw a school kid boot a cat that was just lying in the sun. It went quite a few feet in the air but must have caused a lot of internal bleeding/injury. The RSPCA couldn't do anything without the aid of the police. Don't know the outcome but we keep animals as pets, i.e. as part of the family. I've heard if you can kill an animal (probably a pet) then you're capable of killing a person. Sickening...

No i could never harm any defenceless animal and those that do should have their head cracked on the ground and I would love having the job of doing that to someone who was wicked to an animal!!!

People should have to obtain a licence or permit to even own an animal, much less then sell and deal with them! I just hope they can live with their consciences, and then they will have to the big man upstairs one day, and I should love to be around to see that! I hope they burn in h***!

if i knew this person and if it is true i would try to form a group start a protest outside his shop tell people of other shop in the area that sell pet supplie but keep it with in the law

Lord, no. It's highly unethical. I'm a member or PETA, actually. There are videos made in Japan where attractive women in cocktail dresses stomp on kittens just to turn men on. It's gross. I'm sure there's something about it on www.snopes.com.

That's horrible! poor things!! animals are the best company that someone can have!! I think they deserve respect for the love and company that they give us!! That unconditional love!!! They should torture the people that hurt innocent creatures!!
