The prime minister of us? Do you mean the Prime Minister of the US? The US does not have a Prime Minister, or a Parliament, or a King or a Queen. We have a Congress and a President as well as a Supreme Court. Do Prime Minister. However, since Dick Chaney, the Vice President, makes all the decisions, he acts like the Prime Minister.

There is no Prime Minister of the United States, but nonetheless, the term "Prime Minister" has sometimes been applied, either as a pejorative term, a bon mot or through ignorance, to an official within the government of the United States.

Today, the term is applied by people unfamiliar with the American presidential system of government, who presume that the chief executive official (the President of the United States) is instead called the prime minister (e.g. "Prime Minister Clinton"). People accustomed to parliamentary systems where the duties of the head of state and head of government are separated sometimes fail to realize that the President of the United States performs both these functions.

The U.S. does not have a Prime Minister. Although, with all the cabinet members, advisors, etc. on the payroll, I'm surprised Bush hasn't tried to add one to his list of employees.
