I draw too much social security to qualify for Medicare Part D..
My dental, and drugs will be cut out soon and my drug bill alone exceeds $300.00 per month. I will have to stop my medication if I can't receive help. I canot work due to medical condition. In this state once you are on social security, and if you apply for disability it takes an act of congress to get on disability. i should have went on disability first...Thanks.. Rody_o

I do not understand parts of your question. If you are already on medicare, you are eligibled for part D. As far as I know, your SS check has nothing to do with it.If you had applied for disability before you were 65, a disability check is basically early SS.You probably get more SS now than you would have had you applied for disability earlier. You dont get more money on disability. The advantage is that you become eligible for Medicare 2 years after you start drawing disability(early SS).You must have secondary insurance that is helping with dental & drugs and you are now losing that ins.?Before that happens, you will have to apply for part D through many insurers that offer it, like AARP.Call 1-800-MEDICARE before your insurance ends and they will send you all the information, It's not a great plan, but it's a start. Also, check with the manufacturer of your medication. Some drug companies well provide medication free of charge if you fall within their income guidelines. In addition, ask you doctor for SAMPLES!

Did you not get on the Medicare drug supplement plan to pay your medicines? Check it out. Your income makes no difference.
