Some things are transparent, some aren't. Why?

"and my favorite colors clear",,,,,,,,,, just kidding i couldn't resist , it is the same reason why a penny sinks and a boat floats , it has to do with how the particles are distributed in a solid object

glass absorbs UV wave lengths. wood absorbs visible wavelengths.

Same thing. Only we see only visible wavelengths so you think glass is transparent while it is as opaque as wood.

ha ha see through trees..its simple..if tree were transparent then we wouldn't be able to see our paper..then we would get paper cuts looking for it..and paper cuts hurt
