Mark is a quality driver who has not yet been in a car which was capable of delivering a Grand Prix win. The fact that he does not drive for any of the teams currently winning races works badly against the poor chap. With Red Bull next season he is unlikely to be challenging for the world championship but one cannot discount the possibility of the odd race win. Strange things sometimes happen in F1 races (especially when rain is involved). As Murray Walker used to point out, F1 is IF spelled backwards...

He can possibly win a Formula One Grand Prix, but I think it would be a bit of an anomaly if he won one this year or even next year. Still, I think he' s much better than the equipment he has (or will have next season). Unfortunately, I fear he may be following in the footsteps of another Southern Hemisphere driver, Chris Amon; perhaps one of the best drivers never to win a Grand Prix.
Oh, and Adrian Newey might want to stick with his designing duties; he crashed at Goodwood on the weekend (and spent the night in hospital) and, of course he also crashed at Le Mans earlier this year.

Well, the last two races have produced first time winners, so perhaps.

In fairness, it could be a while. He's had his moments this year but the Williams looks unreliable. And Red Bull, though improving, are unlikely to seriously threaten for a while, even when Webber joins next year. It might take one of those Belgium 98 races where all the usual contenders drop out.

Still, he's certainly good enough and he's only 30 so he's got plenty of time yet.

I hope so because he is a quality driver he just hasn't got the car this year, but with him going to RBR (Red Bull Racing) next year hopefully he should be a lot more competitive.

I just don't understand why Williams have gone downhill so fast this year, is it the cosworth package they're running or have they just lost it all together? What ever it is they have got 2 great drivers there that are just being wasted.

Maybe
As long as Alonso & Michael are stil driving, there isn't much chance, unless they both have a reason to pull out of a race, then he might have a chance.
He might get on podium though..

In a car designed by Adrian Newey and powered by a Ferrari engine?
I think he could have a chance.

Probably not even if he was the only one in the race. his car would probably not complete the required numberv of laps for the race to count toward championship points

I would like him too. He's like a lot of hopefuls who come into the sport. It's not that they don't have the talent it's just that they don't have a decent enough car under them.

He shows flashes of brilliance but cant finish, OK lots of car problems, but the best drivers can nurse their cars... i doubt he will win many..
