Moving large household from Indiana to North Carolina. Interested in "PODS" for brief storage period first then having professional pickup & delivery. Are Pods cheaper than Van Line moves? Are shipped items safer from in transit theft? Any advice re.Pod company rip off tactics? Can shipment be insured?

I was moving from an apartment into a house.

My house was not ready when my lease was up, so I had professional movers move my stuff into a POD and stored it for about two months. When I was ready to move in, the POD was delivered, and I had a professional team unload the POD.

I found the POD cheaper then having the movers moving it.

My movers said they would have been cheaper, after the fact, but they wouldn't have.

Check around, and get your quotes in writing.
