I think PenDrives are limited to a certain number of insert / retrieval. I lost my first pen drive of 64mb about a 6 months of use. I lost my next pen dive 128 mb about a year of use.

What happened is that I inserted the pen drive at a local machine and then it went kapoot, shut off and no one to repair or explain. The unit went down, and there was no more blinking light.

So I´m just about curious about what you think? After how many input/retrieval would a pen drive stop to work?

They are not limited to a certain number of inserts. I had that same problem to but I fixed it myself. The problem is the soldering job on the inside of it. For everytime that you insert it, it sorta loosens the soldering job that connects the actual usb connection to the pc board inside of the pen drive. Also do to the fact that most usb drives stick out, it is real easy for someone to just come by and put downward pressure on it causing it to bend and or break. If your able to take yours apart, just redo the solder on the 4 pins that connect the usb connector to the pcb.
