I downloaded Limewire the other day from a site assuring it was all now legal, and paid £30 off quid for 'life-time' membership. I have since found out it was a scam. My question is...why do they do it? What kind of people are making this money? Do they have anything to gain other than £30 quid from each person they rip off? I am worried that now they have my details who knows what else they could do next. DO NOT DOWNLOAD FROM WWW.LIMEWIRE-SOFTWARE.COM it's a con. why why why???

An easy mistake to make if you have never used limewire before. Don't listen to the folk who are slagging you for it. If you used a credit or debit card, i would cancel the card and get a new one. Cancel a cheque. the real limewire has a free version called basic and a pay version called pro ( i think you just get faster downloads and better search results with pro). you can get it here...

I use basic and have never had any problems other than them trying to get me to buy pro. You just need to close the window that asks you to upgrade.

I downloaded limewire and it was free, i just have to keep clicking on later for the pro version which is 30.00, I still get all music i want... however was scammed out of 30.00 off similar compay which took 30.00 off me for lifetime membership, computer crashed and unable to find it on searches, in my pc.... dissapeared without a trace

It didn't hurt anyone why is it such a bad sin? I have heard God in time does forgive us for the little things that we meant no harm to others. If you could see a sin say if it looked like blue paper the whole world be filled up with blue paper. Downloading illegally, I don't like when people do that bands put a lot of effort in their work it would be nice to get something in return.

Actually the PRO version of LimeWire IS paid software, but looks like you just bought something else... :o(

these people rely on people like you,limewire is free and if i were you i would change all details and i hope you payed for this scam by cheque otherwise stop the credit card immediately

same happened to me a year ago but i went back to the download page look for lost limewire on top left and click then on next page retype your e-mail or password in again. check it isnt in your pc somewere mine got sent to documents. hope this helps mate

get limewire for free at limewire.com. if you want the pro version buy it off their site and not anyone elses.
