a couple years ago when the charlotte bobcats wasnt a team yet, there were only 29 teams, and each team play 82 games a season. if there are an odd number of teams and they each play an even number of games, how do they make such a schedule? i mean how could it all fit perfectly on each teams' schedule?

Well there were 15 east teams and 14 west, the west teams would play each other 4 times and play the east two times. (13x4 + 15x2= 82). The East would play each other 4 times and every West team except two of them twice.

As I see it, some teams in the West do not come East and play a team twice. I have see that some West Coast teams have played the Celtics twice in a season but some only show up once
So I guess it was not really perfect.

This is just because for some reason, they liked the 82 number for games. They thought it would go perfectly.
