Until everyone is tested I'd say no. But in my heart I'd say yes. Those other bums numbers should never count.

If Ryan Howard can pass 61 round trippers, it would be a remarkable achievement, but the answer would have to be no. Barry Bonds holds the single season home run record with 73 in 2001.

Nope. For all we know he could be using every steroid known to man. The logical heir to the throne is Barry Bonds, he hit the most and its time for people to accept that the record books are tainted. There's even some evidence that Roger Marris used steroids and Ruth got to face REALLY bad pitching in a park where the right field wall was just over 290 feet away. All record holders had their advantages.

I think even if he doesn't hit more than 60 hr's this year I already think he is the most logical heir to the new single season hr hitter. However there is a very good reason a hand full of people even hit over 50 hr's it ain't easy. But I like Howard's chances....BTW they were all on 'roids, and I would put a lot of money on the fact that there are still a majority of players still 'juiced'.

Ryan Howard has had a remarkable year and may well be the NL MVP this season. I think just getting to 60 would be a remarkable acheivement.

did sammy sosa use anything?

he passed 61 when he was facing mark mcguire and mcguire uses andro, banned substance

i guess there is nothing against ryan howard, so if you would like to call ihm the logical heir to the homerun record sum 1 has to make a great points for McGuire, bonds, or sosa if he passes 61

No - there's been no proof of anything illegal done by Bonds, McGwire, or Sosa, and even if there was it'd be awful hard to prove that they did it back when they set their marks.

McGwire did use andro, but it was 100% legal at the time.
