Still likely to be the PSU.
Get another of the same or higher wattage from local electronics place. They're not too expensive.
Before you replace it though, remove the plug(s) from the motherboard, wait about 30 seconds & replace them, then retry. Works about 20% of the time - but still indicates a power supply issue.
Also look at the capacitors on the motherboard & ensure the tops are perfectly flat, if they're peaked or leaking, you need to replace the motherboard. Or just the caps if you're _Very_Good_ with a Soldering Iron.
If you change the motherboard for a completely diff board and you hae XP that came with your computer you will ned another retail copy of XP too, best to try & replace with same board.
If unplugging just the PSU fails, unplug al other power consuming components like the CDROM's Hard Drives, Floppy Drives and any cards you have, plus any USB devices etc. If it comes back on, replace all those components one at a time so you know which one caused the computer to fail.
I hope its just the PSU.

Well this can be caused by many things, first of all, check all the cables as stated in the other answers. Next if your feeling confident enough, remove the processor and re-seat it BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO BEND ANY PINS. Now try switching the machine back on, if this fails take all the cards out of the machine and try again. If it turns on this time put the cards back in one at a time, switching the machine off before installing the cards i'd strart with the video card, as if the it does boot up, you'll be able to see what it is doing.
If all this falis and you've access to another PC, give a shout on messenger.

You mean there is an ac receptacle in the power supply for your monitor. The power supply is still bad! You might however unplug the computer from the wall receptacle and let it sit a couple minutes. Some power supplies will reset their internal breaker.

Might be the power supply inside the PC.
If the PC is just dead when you turn on the power, no lights, no whirring... then I would suggest changing that first.
They only cost about 25-50 dollars.

Check the rear also, and look to see if there is an extra small power switch (usually a rocker switch)
use the power cord to power another device or swap power cords
Listen carefully if any fans come on
could be the PSU has failed.

Probably the power supply. The 120v output isn't generated by the power supply. It acts more like a power strip.

The power supply, however, could have a loose connection to the motherboard. I just had to re-solder this on my computer...or rather, pay someone else to do that.

in the journey that your computing device stops responding, each and every each and every now and then retaining the potential button is the only element to do wanting unplugging it. on a similar time as i does not recommend it as the thank you to often close your computing device off, it rather is functional whilst issues bypass haywire. although, it fairly is a robust considered certain why your computing device is putting plenty if its a regular difficulty.

It could be the wire that goes from the PC to the wall. When i was in computer college we had one like that when we were done building our computers. If you know someone with a multimeter that can test it that might be all it is.
