I just don't like how her skin is kinda flaky around her ankles.

Is two weeks old enough for baby lotion?

I would recommend Johnson's Baby Lotion. A thin coat is all a 2 wk old needs. Don't over do it because a baby's skin needs to breathe just as all of ours does. Good Luck! If you need anything else IM me.

I would let nature take it's course. First off the flaky skin is just due to skin shedding which is natural. If you have to wait until she has had her first bath. I would also apply a natural unscented oil like a dab of castor oil. Babies skin actually has it's own moisture system which can be affected by what we put on them. Not to mention talc and baby powder cervical cancer link and asthma and other breathing problem links. I actually avoided using lotions and stuff on my son a opted for natural oils like castor oil, and when he got older olive oil and sweet almond oils.

Congratulations !
I started using lotion on my babies when they were 2 days old.My youngest daughter's skin was flaky all over her body when she was born. I use Johnson's baby lotion, they are made for babies . Plus you don't want your daughter's skin to be dry. If you are not comfortable using a lotion then you can use petroleum jelly.
Good luck

When my daughter was born, the nurses put lotion on her when she was just a few days old. So I guess as long as it's not an irritant to your baby, anytime to start would be fine.

You don't need to put lotion on babies ever, or oil, or powder. Keep the little thing clean and dry. If you use soap, very mild soap, water and a soft little cloth to clean the skin.
