My computer teacher gave me an assighnment on "Hw data is stored in a re-writable CD?" - I have to give reference also. Can anyone please give me some links from where i can get help? please, specify the link..i mean, specify exactly where(in a web site) i will get that information. the short answer is that it's stored the same as an old vinyl record stores audio - in a continuous spiral with pits and troughs that make up the actual data.

a cd-r and a cd-rw are pretty much the same except that when re-writing a cd-rw the surface is re-heated so that it can be re-burned.

A CD-RW recorder can rewrite 700 MB of data to a CD-RW disc roughly 1000 times.
