Even IF you did break through, could you stand to be around them all the time? I'd find a job where people are sensible and care about the company & employees in a real way.

"Neocon" refers to neo-conservative. I think a lot of people here are elaborating much further than the initial statement warranted: the boss will fire you if you don't put out! How is said boss hindering your advancement? What type of work do you do and what type of skills do you have that warrant your advancement? I am not saying that your boss doesn't stand in your way but if you honestly want an answer and don't simply wish to sound off and start a political debate you should provide a bit more background with your question.

Maybe if you spent more time working rather than spouting off your political views (which are irrelevant in the workplace) your boss would see you as a valuable asset rather than an opiniated whiner.
The only glass ceiling is the one you impose on yourself. If you think you are better, prove it by leaving and doing the job elsewhere or by going into business for yourself.
It could also be that he thinks you are hot and keeps you where you are to scope your booty every day. Of course, even weak minded liberals like cute girls, so this is probably NOT it...

Not everyone is cut out to make it in certain businesses. Maybe you just don't measure up. Stop blaming your gender and your politics for your failings and just dust yourself off and start all over again. If you can't make it where you are than leave and try somewhere else. But you have to put in the effort. Just don't wait around for someone to give you what you want.
Work hard and take what is yours!
