There's only one way really - be honest with them. Tell them why you quit and why you would like to go back to them. If they have any decency they will respect your candidness and give you your job back...if they don't then you know that the job really wasn't going to right for you.
Good luck!

Contact your old boss and just tell him that you now realize you made a mistake and would like the chance to prove yourself again. If they thought your work was pretty good while you were there, they'll likely find a spot for you.
On the other hand, if you left on bad terms and your work wasn't anything to write home about, then maybe it's best if you just let it go, move on, and try to do better in the future.

Usually it depends on how you left...Did you just up and quit?.. Or did you give a 2 week notice??..If you gave a 2 week notice and worked the whole 2 weeks then you might have a good chance of returning to that company

Just to add another thought, maybe you have some friends still there, and maybe one of them could broach the question off the record with your old boss, an intelligent intermediary can make all the difference.

Get yourself a good pair of kneepads and grovel pathetically at your former bosses feet, tell him you were suffering from temporary insanity and that leaving was the worst thing you`ve ever done,or just get the same job elsewhere and let them stuff it.

If you worked a notice, there probably wouldn't be a problem being re-hired. If you walked out, try getting the same job somewhere else.

You can either write them a letter explaining why you would like come back..... Word of warning be honest with your reasons sensibly.
Or you can see the Personnel Officer face to face.
Best of Luck!!!

simply go to your boss and tell him you made a mistake and ask for your old job back, if he valued you as an employee he will give you back your job,if he does not then you do not want to work for him anyway, move on.
