You don't germinate them before you seed or plant them . You put them in the ground and let them self germinate. By germinating them before you seed them, any roots that they have could be damaged by the seeding or planting.

Ive bein gardening for yrs and in no way heard of freezing grass seed. particular you do freeze some seeds and start up them off in dark heat places and not heat mild ones yet this in no way you may end the seed germinating supply the belief up.

You can buy pre-germinated grass seeds. The advantage is faster germination and growth.

The only benefit I could see would be to check viability of seeds before putting them in the soil Otherwise...no other benefits.

They're sprouted already and will take root and grow more efficiently than just dropping a seed in the ground.

If I understand you correctly do you mean, planting them inside before outside? If so or course, a longer growing season. Or do you mean like soaking morning glories to help them sprout? That is because their shell is so hard it gives them a growing boost to get them started.
