i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

I can not get over Steve Iwrin death i mean he has been doing this all his life and now it has to end because he had gotten stung by a sting ray in the heart and he died right at the scene. Steve has been doing this to save the animals and he has been doing this when he was a little kid. I feel really bad for his wife Terry and his kids Bindi and I Forgot the other kids name. I wish he did not have to go so soon he was only 44 years old when he died. I will really miss him soo much. Bye Bye Steve Iwrin We will really miss you thank you for everything. I know that Steve iwrin is in heaven with God and the angles and he watching us right know.

Death is a part of life. It should not be final, he has just moved on to the next stage. Hopefully, he had his soul right with God and is in heaven. People grieve because they miss the person. Grief is a natural process. The closer you were to the person who has passed on, the more sudden & unexpected the departure was, etc can play a large role too. Sometimes, in a case like this, people who did not really know him but enjoyed his work, etc, may have a difficult time with the grief process for many other reasons. One is that, it makes one think of their own mortality. It may indicate that one needs to work on their issues within themselves. If you cannot move on, in a resonable amount of time, please get some grief counseling. Best of health & wellness.

It is really a shame, especially when you consider he has left behind his wife an 8 year old daughter and 3 year old son.

Sting Ray stings are not usually enough to kill you but since he got too close to this one and scared it it got him under the rib cage and put a hole in his heart.

The only positive thing is that at least he left this world doing what he really loved. I hope that his family , friends and fans can find comfort in that.

Horrible death! I thought he would go by having a CROC get him -not a Sting Ray. He was filming a bit for his little girl's TV show.

I've expected it and I think everyone else did too, just not so soon. You can't spend that much time messing with wild animals in their natural habitat without reprocussion. I mean seriously, how many times has he been bitten, scratched, hit, stung, grabbed etc. already? It was just a matter of time. I thought it would have been a crocodile myself - fitting.

Just happened, give it some time, is really sad, but at least it seemed to be quick. Need to keep his family in our prayers and thoughts.

I got over it as soon as I read it.

I then went to the sports page.

Everybody dies. you play with danger sometimes you dier from it.

It's like wondering what went wrong when the guy who jumped off of a building died.

What do you expect?

It's a real shame. He took a lot of risks, but we all take risks everyday. He taught SO many people a lot about animals that we will probably never see in real life. I'll miss him.
