I've been doing a lot of research on comparitive religions. Everyone claims that islam is a discriminate religion. But I've been visiting Churches, Synagogues and Mosques. What I found out is the churches were segragated, they had White man chuches, Black Man Churches, Greek Churches, Orthodox Churches etc... When I visited synagogues, I also realised that they were segragated, in other words, you would never see white and black people praying together. Now when I visited a mosque, it was beautiful to see white people, black people, asian people, oriental people, medditeranean people all stand as one and pray together. I then visited more mosques and realised the same thing, UNITY. They stand together, white man next to black, and they don't even look at skin colour. I sent one of my white colleagues into a black mans church, everyone kept on looking and he had to leave. I then sent a black man into a white mans church, and the same occured. No brotherhood. Has anybody realised this?

Well done. Now if you take the next step and actually read the Qu'Ran, you will realize that it's also very peaceful, forgiving, embracing of others, merciful, and esoteric. They worship the same God as Christianity...The Qu'Ran specifically says that Jesus is the Son of God, was born to the Virgin Mary, etc. Islam actually comes from Abraham's 1st child, Ishmael. They worship the God of Abraham, and believe in the divinity of Jesus...they simply have an extra prophet. The Qu'Ran explicity says that when your territory is attacked, to drive the enemy to the border of your territory, and go no further.

It also says that women should be respected more than men, and the suggestion that women wear veils is so that they can help the men by not being a temptation or distraction.

It's really a beautiful religion...and I'm an ordained minister in the Christian Church.

It is true up to a point. The Muslim stands shoulder to shoulder with his fellow, he cannot save a space for his friend, or leave a gap between himself and someone he doesn't like.
However, it's not my experience that churches are segregated, I have been at mixed services. I have been at services where the participants were black, Amerindian, east Indian and white. How many races do you want at one time?
It is true that Hindu Mandirs aren't flooded with Black guys, but they can and do attend, as do Europeans.
What you might have noticed however is another huge difference between the Mosque and the Church and the Mandir. The Church and the Mandir will be full of women, singing, dancing, praising, and worshipping. When you look in the mosque, where are the women? Absent or hidden away.
My niece lost a son, he was drowned, only 8 years old. When they went to bury him the Imam didn't want her near the grave. He said it wasn't seemly. Not seemly for a mother to bury her own son. She rejected his instruction and took her place at the first rank, so she could say her farewells. Did this Imam show respect for a mother?
Yes, the Muslims do show brotherhood, but what about sisterhood?

Excuse me, YOU'RE WRONG!!!

I notice you didn't put down that in Mosques women are forced to sit separate from the men and that includes their husbands and sons so families are NOT ALLOWED to pray together.

I'm a white girl and when I was invited to an all black Southern Baptist Church they were all delighted that I came, thanked me for praying with them and made me feel very welcome.

Every church I have ever been in with the exception of that one; Catholic, Pentecostal, etc. have ALL had a mixture of races in them and ALL have stood together as one (black, white, Hispanic, oriental,.....men AND women) and prayed and we don't look at race, gender or color.

In fact, Father Chitti, a Catholic priest at St. Anne's Church, who just recently left for a new parish was a newly ordained priest from Nigeria.

He was one of our favorites because he was a very boisterous, outgoing, caring priest who has no qualms, none at all, about snapping us all out of our complacency to get us to focus more on God.

Few churches have more unity than the Catholic Church because we have been around for so long and in so many countries so our priests and nuns are of so many nationalities.

i don't think it is the religions that segregates but the people and cultures and the background. and i don't mean to burst your bubble that Muslim aren't racist cause lets face it discrimination exists every where in every culture religion and etc sad though.
I've come across racist Muslims from life experience but i guest for Muslims when it come to praying they just wanna pray. but u must realise there are white Churches and black Churches because of past events and in the past i don't know of Muslims having past issues with a specific race or something the problem have been from the last 100 years and the era of the empire when the British went to India.

We women We always want dessert. We always want you to order dessert. What we never want is for you to ask us if we want dessert. It's redundant Also Under no circumstance, besides enlistment in the Army, will we find cargo pants an acceptable choice and finally Though it may be cool that you saved all that time and money by going to Supercuts, we may not touch you for two weeks.

A very interesting point, extremely well put. I wish there were more people who would take such a tolerant attitude about other people's religions. I have no faith, except in nature, for clarification.

However, some of the remarks about the place of women in organised religion do hold true. I find it appaling that, for example, women in Islam have to cover themselves in order not to be a temptation to men. Why? If men are that easily tempted, maybe they should wear a blindfold.
