No u dont. There is a version of aim that is called Aim Express. Its a version of aim that you dont have to download and is made specifically for those people who cant download Aim if they are trying to use it at work or at school. I use to use it all the time. Last time I used it was back in like 2000 though, so I dont know whats the latest story on it.

It's like everything else.Just like a game..."Download to play"...download to use.
