I don't believe in placing guilt on current whites because they had nothing to do with it and yes, I am very well aware of the history of the slave trade and its appalling, but in all honesty whites did do horrible things to my ancestors once they've arrived in Am. and the color issue made everything even more hateful and stupid. African Americans still have it hard, because there will be a white woman president before they sit a qualified black man in office. We will never see that because deep down there is still that silent control over blacks, they we are dirt, we are nothing. I can not hide my complexion, but other races can: Italian, Jews, hispanics, basically the fair skin folks who fair better in life. Maybe in the past those groups experienced setbacks, but nothing hurts more than being called loud and ignorant, and "driving while black" sick s**t!!

Well technically we have the longest hardship in history. 400+ years and still going strong. And where u get europeans got it from blacks? the only thing i didnt like about the slave trade is that the blacks were given guns and other gifts from the europeans to catch the blacks for them cuz if they did it im sure they would have been ganged up on. so they were smart
there is no brainwashing... i recognize jews hardship, and even the mexicans right now and cubans, i feel we are all in the same boat. so u r not racist just uneducated..
and i dont believe in reparations either, not every black person wants to make a white person feel bad, or get "free money" and even if we did the government would find some way to take it back. and plus, the indians get more treatment in employment, tax break, all kinds of stuff so i think u need to go back to ur history book.

The first thing you need to realize that just like white people, black people all have different ideas and belief systems. They are individuals before they are a group. I am black and yes I know about Africans even selling some of their own people to the white slave traders. Evil is evil, doesn't matter what color they are. Also, no i don't believe in monetary slavery reparations but i think that a lot of conditioning and brainwashing has taken place on the black community, from within and from without. The only way to combat it is through education.

It is not just black people. I never knew of African involvment until I was studying Voodoo for a religion class and read it myself from a book by a Voodoo black practitioner that in what is now Benin the ruling tribe conquered other tribes in Togo and western Nigeria, claimed there gods as there own and enslaved the population. When Europeans came the king of Benin(forgot the actual name of the country then) and offered to sell the slaves to them.
Not only that 32 million Europeans were put into slavery during the entire Barbary(north africa) pirate era. Thats more white slaves than blacks sent to the Americas(8 million)

I disagree with reparations and the general concept of white guilt...totally unreasonable in this day and age. Maybe once, many years ago, slave reparations could've worked - like the same way people receive war reparations - but it simply couldn't work now.
What you need to realise is the simple cause and effect that history has dictated for the majority of blacks in the USA.
I cannot understand it first hand as I am not a black American, but it is certain that many blacks are still suffering as a result of slavery, Jim Crow laws, etc. After all, civil rights for blacks were only really attained as little as 25 years ago. Therefore, despite being white, I can sometimes understand why so many people still feel cheated and poorly treated, but this does depend on the situation.
Yet I depise it when people try to make ME feel ashamed for being white...this is a very nasty prejudiced & racist view.
In the words of 2pac...."I was given this world I didn't make it"

How do you know what black people feel???? And when have you ever heard a black person claim to have it the hardest out of any group in history? Obviously you are racist, because you art taking what your professor says and you are assuming that the whole black race feels the way he feels. I don't believe in slave reparations, because the people who were slaves are not alive today. And, with the way our economy is right now, it would do more hurt to our society than good. The fact of the matter is that without slavery, there is still a lot of racism and oppression going on in the black communities. We are against oppression. Not just for blacks, but for any race who is oppressed by a government who could give a rats a s s about its people. And regardless to where the Europeans learned about slave trade, they still took it upon themselves to come to a completely different continent and steal its people. While robbing them of their culture, their language, their religion, their land, their families, their dignity, etc. They could have made their own people slaves. So, it doesn't matter where they learned it from, it was still wrong. PERIOD. So, get the f*ck off your little high horse, and find some other things to worry about other than what black people are doing. Trust me... we're not spending our time worried about you.

Well the difference between the black Africans slavery and the European slavery is that the European based their slaves soley on skin color.
To the Europeans, if you were black, you were a slave.
The Africans may have used slaves, but it was NOT because of somebodys race, which is cruel.

they have been propagandized by supremacists because delivery plus faculties not often conceal background intimately. background is incredibly sparkling that the African slave commerce has been occurring because a minimum of Egyptian cases and the classic results of dropping a tribal conflict there became slavery. It merely does not have the political fee to state that the main up-tp-date wave that introduced their ancestors to the recent international became the outcomes of tribal war and an far greater desirable than slaves there which the Arabs offered up and offered to the Europeans.

EUROPEANS DIDNT LEARN BLACK SLAVE TRADE FROM AFRICANS....your so ignorant.
And your in college also......well little boy, the slave trade has existed long before europeans even went to africa. Whether you believe in any bible or not, slavery dates back to those days.
Spain was the number one slave traders taking Africans before the New World was ever discovered.
......why dont you pay attention in your American History classes. Maybe its my fault for actually thinking that everyone posting messages here has any intelect at all.

First I have African blood in my ancestry, but, I look white(except for my nose and hair) so no one can say I am racist.
Most Black peeps think that only caucazoid natural born American citizens ever had slaves, and of those enslaved , that only Africans, were ever anslaved.
They seem to forget that slavery existed in Africa for centuries, even milenia, before the "WHITE MAN " ever arived. I mean even The Jews were enslaved in Egypt, wich is in Africa.
