You think we would learn from our mistakes but we don't do we? I think if "casualties" were rising at a higher rate you would see that the American people would be taking a much more active stance in getting our soldiers to come home! I think there are people thinking of the soldiers that have already given their lives and what it would mean if we just upped and left now. To me , losing one life for a cause that is wrong, is losing one life to many! Unfortunately, others don't see it that way. They would rather fight to the "death" than admit their mistake. That is the question, When will the American people decide that they've lost to many life's to an unjust cause? When we we say "enough"?

Sometimes people can't admit their a major idiot. Their hoping something miraculous will happen and Iraq will be fine. Plus if your the moron who really supported Bush before the invasion, and we leave and your still in office guess what? You really start to look like a jerk. These inbred Conservatives just hate to admit that their boy Bush brainwashed them into something they can't get out of.

And if people say "if we leave Iran will take over. or it will be a terrorist state", tell them too shut up. How do they know. Iran already knows that Iraq is a messy situation and don't want any part of it. And let the terrorist make it a terrorist state, at least we'll know where their at for a change. Maybe we'll get lucky and Bin Laden will show up.

By the way, when you mention Nam what you really meant to say is (when Nixon CUT AND RAN), (when Reagan CUT AND RAN in 1983 in Lebanon)

Americans have a history of sticking their noses into other country's business... They're staying the course to save face at the expense of people's lives...

Just suppose while we were fighting our civil war, soldiers from another overseas nation showed up, said "Hold it...! Your form of government is all wrong in the first place...! It's no wonder you can't get along... Now, here's what we'll do..."
I think the Yanks AND the Rebs would've formed a quick alliance and proceeded to kick their butts outta the country...!!!
I can see THAT happening to us over there...
Pull out ALL foreign troops, let the regime either collapse or strengthen, and allow the country its sovereignty and dignity... It's THEIR problem... Let THEM fix it to THEIR satisfaction...

The war was poorly planned by any estimate ,both in troop strength needed and budgeting ,but the worst offence was winning the battle but losing the war .The Administration simply will not admit to its failures in planning to occupy a religiously fragmented sectarian country a large segment of which has been driven to hate their "liberators " for the cruelties we have heaped upon them . The fact is we blew it and won't admit our folly .
