You usually know that you have had too much of a good thing when you don't notice it any more or take it for granted. Or after you have had it and are bored or overweight or drunk. Reminds me of a poem I learned in High school. YES! I can remember that far back! " FREEDOM IS A HABIT" BY CARL SANDBURG -- FREEDOM IS A HABIT, AND A COAT WORN, SOME BORN TO WEAR IT, SOME NEVER TO KNOW IT. FREEDOM IS CHEAP, OR AGAIN AS A GARMENT IS SO COSTLY, MEN PAY THEIR LIVES RATHER THAN NOT HAVE IT. FREEDOM IS BAFFLING, MEN HAVING IT OFTEN KNOW NOT THEY HAVE IT TILL IT IS GONE AND THEY NO LONGER HAVE IT. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? IS IT A RIDDLE? YES, IT IS FIRST OF ALL IN THE PRIMERS OF RIDDLES. TO BE FREE IS SO-SO: YOU CAN AND YOU CAN'T. WALKERS HAVE FREEDOM ONLY BY NEVER WALKING AWAY THEIR FREEDOM: RUNNERS TOO HAVE FREEDOM UNLESS THEY OVERUN: EATERS HAVE OFTEN OVEREATEN THEIR FREEDOM TO EAT AND DRINKERS OVERDRANK THEIR FINE DRINKING FREEDOM. I think this is very relevant today with so many protestors about the war and terroists and the illegal immigrants problems. We have forgotten how we became free and we need to remember to not grow so comfortable with it because it can be taken away. If we are not careful the freedom as we now know it will be gone. When our leaders give amnesty and our programs to the illegals instead of removing them from our country, we are losing a battle and may lose our freedom due to a terroist sneaking in with them or so many illegals that they war against us even though we have given them so much. They have already been protesting. We need to sit up and take notice and DO someting to keep our wonderful country free and never take it for granted!

when you think about it a little too much... you know what I mean. If it's the first thing you think about in the morning and the last thing you think about before you go to bed, and you are obsessed with it; it's gone too far.

When you get arrested,or need a shot of penicillin. Or when A priest refers to you as the dearly departed. Also if a judge gives you ex wife everything and she never wants to speak to her twin sister again. At least you know they taste different

To me there is no such thing as "too much of a good thing"; unless it is hurting someone, in which case, I wouldn't call it a good thing.

The moment you are just slightly bored with it. Don't burn bridges, but leave quickly. This gives you the option of returning.
