Hands off this guy! He mentions Postal (as in USPS) - United Parcel Service (UPS) and Fedex together. I smelled fish just on that note alone!

get your money order and cash it first. That is how it should go. The trust is more geared towards the seller than the buyer. Just like the purchase of any item. Get full payment before you can give the item. Like a departmane store. So no, don't trust this action. Everybody knows you must have a check cleared before you can recieve the item. So get full money cash in hand first, then ship item.

I but things on ebay and I never recieve my item untill the seller gets all of his money first. Shipping and handling included. You can tell him to proceed, but you will not send the item untill you go to the post office and cash the money order. Shipping and handling included. If he does not like the situation, tell him to wire it via wetsern union. Or to open a paypal account and do it that way. But do not send the item without cash in hand first.

I would say you shouldn't ship anything until you recieve payment in your hands, the check cashes. You can send him the weight in the meantime while you are waiting for payment to arrive and he can still get you the shipping label. But DON'T send the goods until you have the money! I have purchased things from eBay and no seller ever ships me anything until my payment has posted.

No, you can't trust this guy.

He wants you to send the stuff to him based upon his payment "approval".

Even if he did send you a USPS money order, I would bet anything that it is fake.

Craigslist sends out scam and fraud advisory warnings with every e-mail. Didn't you read it? Your buyer has all the classic signs of a scammer.

Don't send anybody anything until after you have received and cashed the USPS money order.

No cash, no shipping.

I do not trust him. He took far, far too many words to explain.

I have purchased hundreds of items on-line (eBay, amazon, etc) and the only thing I ever sent to sellers was this: "Once payment is received, please ship to [my name and address]."

Tell him, "Once payment has been processed and received, I will be happy to ship your item."

It may be legit, but if you're uncomfortable, just have him send a money order or certified check and keep it simple. You're the seller, so you set the terms.
