Yes. Our bodies decompose or is eaten by maggots and worms. If cremated, then we become ash and mix with the earth. Since matter can neither be created nor destroyed, the matter that we were gets passed on to other forms, whether living or not. In other words, a part of us becomes a part of the worm which in turn is eaten by a bird or a badger or whatever. Then we become a part of the bird or badger and may come out as bird or badger poop. Life is a cycle and so it goes. The matter that we are is passed on to other forms of life. That is reincarnation to me. We give life to other beings. After all we are part of the food chain. Next time you see a bird poop, the poop might have parts of someone you know or ,heck, it might be me. :)

One cannot necessarily answer this question from a scientific perspective.

Science has not asked questions about the soul. It has not delved into that topic. Of course there is the past life hypnosis thing, but how much of that is just information gleaned from the TV or Books or imagination that just happens to surface in hypnosis situations.

Science has started to delve into the subject of the soul, but not enough to allow a true scientific answer to that question.

So: Sure, why not?

Difficult to answer. Some questions are not simple. This is one of them. My rational thinking says no evidence hence can not be believed. My emotional thoughts and cultural background compels me to say yes for my belief. So I am torn between these two sides of my thinking.

No. It just doesn't make sense, there's no good reason for it to be the case.
