well, i had the same problem coming up with ideas, but at my school, some project ideas were:
Does heart rate change dramatically when listening to different genres of music?
Does color affect mood changes?
On which foods does fungi grow faster?
Which brands of whitening toothpaste actually show the best results?
Does compost vs. worms vs. plain soil work in gardening?
Which sodas are most harmful to metals vs. your stomach?
if these dont help much, u can go to google and type in science fair project ideas.....

When I was younger my father and I built a solar-powered town, full fit with capacitors to store the 'solar' energy during the day so the town could operate at night. It's rather simple to do, and fairly cheap (less than $150). Anybody at RadioShack should be able to help you with the actual design and the materials you would need.
