You can exchange your' boyfriend date.
But you only have one mom! You don't know where she'll be next year!!!

Well, I don't get along with my mom... so I would go on the date.
I suppose you do get along w/ your mom, so I suggest if your boyfriend really cared about you he would wait until a later time to date you. Next, make sure 'nothing' is going on when you start planning for a date.

Take him with you & your mom & do something very special for her. This is her day you have 365 days in a year to spend with him so why not give up just one.
I always write my mom poems on her birthday & send her some roses to her work...To me my mom is the greatest mom in the world...

If he is serious about you then invite him along. If not ..your mom should come first. ask you mom if you can bring your boyfriend along if she says no. then respect her wishes. She may want to spend time with you alone. If you and your mom are not close then i guess it;s ok to bring your bf along.

I wouldn't invite my boyfriend over. This is Mom's birthday, and there are 364 other days you can spend with your boyfriend.
I would explain to him why I had to cancel, and if he could'nt understand that, then he's going to be a problem down the road anyway.
