An AVI file is a standard video file.
If you are using a Windows PC you should have "Windows Media Player" already installed. Click...
Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Windows Media Player
There is no need to install any additional software.
If you are using an Apple Mac, try Quicktime (which I believe is also installed as standard)
Hope that helps!

yeah just windows media player, power dvd, divx, many programs will play an AVI file, now if the AVI is corrupted, they won't play right, or if your windows media player has the wrong codec's installed, it won't play either.

media player will play them, but you might need to downlad the divx decoder package and install it to view the particular avi, it was created in that format.

Yes, Windows Media Player but often needs upgrading with codecs.
For most codecs try K-Lite mega codec pack (free software)
