The three ranks firing and advancing, you know the drill: "Front rank, FIRE ! Middle rank, FIRE ! Etc, etc, etc" and the big pile of em at the end. Politically incorrect but rousing stuff nonetheless...

When the fighting stops and everything goes quiet for a while. Then the Zulus return, salute the British soldiers with a song before turning away. As they go over the hill they chant. It fades once again to silence....gripping stuff...

Oh brilliant. My favourite movie. I love the bit where the Zulu's start singing. And then the welsh do. I think it's an amazing scene to hear them. It alll sounds rather impressive doesn't it.
As a soldier it really touches me, and my friend Lora Chard (yea, a relation of John Rouse Merriot Chard) likes it too. Just to see that line of redcoats looking weary but proud. It really is just so cool. And a bit for for you, you know Hook. Well in the film Bromhead describes him as a malingerer and a drunk. However, in reality. Just prior to the battle he recieved extra pay for good behavour and was a teetotaller. (Someone who never drinks) Interesting huh.

It must be that moment when the battle stops & it goes deadly quiet.
The Zulu warriors then return & salute the Brit/Welsh soldiers with a tribal chant before they turn away & go back to their kraals.
As they go over the hill the chanting begins to fade away into a peaceful silence....

Michael Caine shouts, "Come On then! What are you bloody waiting for! Come on." Then Gert Van den Bergh (Lt. Josef Adendorff) starts laughing and explains why they were singing and standing there. (Although the reason is fictious).
