cleansing each and every of the time is a nasty idea. And cotton bud have a tendency to push the ear wax deeper in. it ought to sounds gross, yet my healthcare specialist rightly jogged my memory that the little finger is definitely made for the activity, once you've nails it really is. it cups the wax out and does no longer push it in like cotton buds. As for your youthful son, that is probable more effective to go away it on my own, the ear does no longer prefer to be wiped clean that regularly, except there is an ear an infection. basically clean the exterior.

Oops. I get really itchy ears and just cant help poking at them with buds, sometimes it feels a bit sore, guess I've just been lucky so far not to do any damage, but I can appreciate why you feel the need to do it. However, best to own up and go to the docs with your tail between your legs. I had a doctor who once said "The smallest thing you should put in your ear is your elbow". Clever really, as how are you ever meant to get your elbow against your ear. I can see everyone trying now!

Nah! You could be in for a killing from your doc! You can go to hospital and get them to give you an op for a perforated ear-drum. I have one and it makes me a little deaf!! I went for the hearing tests and stuff so they could see how far my hearing was down from the 'normal' and they would operate if I wanted - but never took it any further. Its a pretty simple operation tho, i just kinda never followed it up.
And stop sticking things down yer ears!!!

You are not supposed to poke your ears with cotton buds or anything for that matter.. Go to the docs & face the music & learn this time!

Your doctor will not kill you, as it is against his Hippocratic Oath. But he may say something to you like, "STOP SHOVING THAT COTTON SWAB DOWN INTO YOUR EAR LIKE IT'S A ROTO-ROOTER DRAIN SNAKE! IT'S A TOOL FOR GENTLY, I REPEAT FOR THE HARD OF HEARING - GENTLY - SWABBING EAR WAX FROM YOUR EAR CANAL, NOT AN ICE PICK FOR CHIPPING OUT CHUNKS OF ROCK!" Of course, I'm not a doctor so I don't know what one might say in a situation like this, I just used my imagination.
As to weather it will heal on it's own or not? Ask your doctor, and tell him to talk into your good ear.

Yes it will. I have weak eardrums, and rupture mine twice a year, with an infection following. All I have been given is Ammoxicillin 500mg which does me good. Whether it helps repair my eardrum, I'm not sure.

do you mean a q-tip? ruptures are serious business believe me i know.... what the hell are you thinking that you wont go deaf if you don't take care of your ears... no it wont repair itself.. the ear drum is 3 cells thick and cant just heal itself.... you need a lesson in personal hygiene....
