Sadly enough, I thought about this a few years ago when we started watching him when my kids were young. I suppose the law of averages is much greater for him than for say...a banker. At least he truly loved what he did. Very sad for his wife and daughter....we'll all miss him.

I've expected it and I think everyone else did too, just not so soon. You can't spend that much time messing with wild animals in their natural habitat without reprocussion. I mean seriously, how many times has he been bitten, scratched, hit, stung, grabbed etc. already? It was just a matter of time. I thought it would have been a crocodile myself - fitting.

It stands to reason that he could die from his work. He was very passionate about wild life and showing the public different aspects about this passion. I personally would never think of doing the things that he did, but I learn a heck of a lot from his programmes. This was a freak accident but he died doing what he loved working with nature.

It is such a tragedy to lose such a bright and talented man who sincerely loved animals, his family, and educating the world.
I never thought Steve Irwin would pass away due to any animal inflicted injuries.

I always believed one of his beloved crocs would get him in the end. I'm so sad that he died. His enthusiasm was infectious. His wife and family must be heartbroken as are his fans all over the world. No one can replace Irwin. Rest in Peace.

When one works with animals, one KNOWS the risks involved.
At least Steve died doing what he loved the most. The sprits of the animals he so lovingly took care of will take care of him now.
He will rest in peace with them.

I figured he might get hurt really bad, but I did not expect him to die like he did. I miss him too. I feel really sorry for his two small children and wife.

I figured he'd die of natural causes. I think everyone expected him to get killed by an animal...which he did. Sad day.

I expected him to die old. I didn't think he'd die from an animal, because of all of his experience with them.

Yes, I did. But it makes me sad he's gone. It was a funny guy who brought a lot of energy and interest to animal conservation. He will be missed.
