I have a ZX citreon 1.4i. the car starts & runs fine for 5 minutes or so then splutters to a halt. 5 minutes later she starts no problem but then the same thing happens again. is this a common problem. the car is 1993 but has 46,000 miles (genuine). i have driven her for the last 6 months and she did this before i was using her but it seemed to sort itself out. can anyone HELP please.

could be the pick up coil, when hot stops functioning.
or the idle posistioning switch.
hard to assist without being there, best advice...take to shop.

My Citroen Used to do this as well! Mine was a manual choke vehicle and i had the idle revs adjusted so that it ticked over at about 1200rpm, this did solve the problem but still happened on very cold days.

well a lot of things could make it do that also the fuel pressure take to a shop they can plug it in and tell ya right away.
