Nope!
JPG is just kind of an 'abbreviation' for JPEG.... jpeg stands for the company who like.. kinda made it.. the joint something group.. lol
But JPG caught on more than JPEG!

It is called jpeg, but when it is on the web, it will be with this format:
IFyour image is a car:
car.jpg
But you say that it is a jpeg picture.

before 32bit disk access we were limited to 8.3 filemnames
8 letters.3 letters
so it was "whatever.jpg"
now with 32bit and long filenames we can call it
"whatever you want to call it.tofj.fguh.jpeg"
if you want, also you can change the extension to .45h or whatever as long as it's not another registered extention and associate that with all your photo and painting programs and it will still work fine.
