10W40 standard motorcycle oil or 20W50 synthetic oil

10W/40 SG. Dont use any automotive oil that has 'friction modifiers' or says energy saving, they contaiin additives that can make the clutch slip

JKC got it correct.

I only use synthetic because of the heat involved.
