According to the Bible, God did not appear or come into being, He simply always was. The best term I can think of is "self-existent." I think since God has always been eternity, and since we as humans have only experienced being bound by time and space, it is really impossible for our minds to comprehend.

Why is this foolish? It's an age-old question. Many people think they know the answer, but nobody does, if fact.
Personally, I don't believe God exists. Too me, that is irrational. But that is why most religion is built on the faith in a deity, so God is it for earthlings.

not stupid- we are just bound by time and space and our understanding in limited to our experiences. We cqannot imagine being able to operate outside of time, understanding eternity and perfection is outside of our realm of experience so it is difficult to wrap our minds around. I have enough evidence to know that God does exist- the things that I don't understand I have to accept by faith. A lot of people look dopwn on this but the fact is, whether oyu believe in God or not, there are things that oyu are not going to understand, all teaching received that is outside of the realm of our experience and understanding is accepted by nothing more than faith, Since not one of us was there at the foundations of the earth and science is only the observation of what we see today, every conclusion we can come to with our 3 pounds of rotting worm food is speciulation and theory and holes are filled with nothing more than our imagination- so whatever oyu choose to believe- you believe it by faith. I try not to imagine what I don't understand- I just simply say 'I don't understand'
Though this is not a stupid question, it is one that no one can honestly answer for you except God Himself.

He has a plan for everything. He does all things according to his will. He just followed his plan.
