About five Billion years, which is quite a while and nothing to get worried about. Perhaps we should be more worried about the suns variable magnetic field and how this could send lots of devices on Earth into chaos

Ask your PC i did awhile ago, and i'am glad to say it wont be for a few billion years yet,but it will burn itself out,but by then there will proberly be no life on earth anyway,we will all have moved into space somwhere,kind regards Kathy

A few billion years, but Earth will not exist as it will have been engulfed by the expanding sun within a few hundred million years.

the sun is going to turn into a red giant first, then pretty much absorb the solar system, then turn into a white dwarf then a black dwarf, then eventually a black hole...but..thats not for a few years..lol
