I love everything German, and I was seriously thinking about settling there in a few years. But a friend told me that maybe I shouldnt because they were very racist.. Is this true?! So I would receive threats for being East Indian?

There are lots of Indian people here.
Germans are racist in 2 ways.
A) There are young people that still have very little tolerance for successful people of Turkish decent. It can be ugly...and it happens in the opposite as well...Turks, born and raised in Germany, resent other foreigners from moving in and taking jobs.
B) The other racism is very discrete...German women LOVE American black men...they try to dress like them, they try to talk like them, they tan as dark as possible and bleach their hair blond for them, and fall all over themselves trying to get to an American with a dark skin tone. The problem is...they invest years of change with no commitment or they get married and find out how racist black families are in America and they come home alone.
So there is racism here...I don't believe you will experience such in your time here. It's a beautiful l country with very old and wonderful traditions. Try to remember there's a very high unemployment rate...finding a job would be the first thing you should do.

A racist is not bound by their race. Anybody can be a racist, no matter where they come from. I have friends from all over the world including Germans and racism makes them sick. Move there, live well and prosper.

Germany is fairly racist thinking they are multicultural and wealthy countries. in many cases places like Russia is distinctly undesirable. jap Europe is extremely undesirable. they have were given packs of skin heads. yet see you later as you're caucasion, try to be positive.
