Latitude are the lines going around the globe. The best example of a line of latitude is the equator. Lines of latitude are measured in degrees. The equator is 0 degrees and each pole is 90 degrees, either North or South of the equator. Low latitude areas are the tropical areas near the equator whiel mid latitude areas are from about 25 to 50 degrees.

"Low latitude" is roughly the same as "tropical" e.g. Kenya.

"mid latitude" means outwith the tropics but not polar either, e.g. Spain.
