I threw a BBQ, it was a hot sunny day had a few friends over and their kids, so my g/f put out the paddling pool. Having limited fridge space on a hot day I filled the pool with beer cans, lots of them. Well my g/f went ape said I had my priorities wrong, how can that be the beer was kept cool and their was always the hosepipe for the kids?

I think that coolers were meant to put alcoholic beverages in - not kiddie wading pools.
I,personally, don't agree with the concept of putting adult beverages into a kids' anything. I think that sends a bad, mixed message. I think that when you have a gathering with many age groups, that adult beverages should be kept NOT in the open for anyone to just grab-n-go.
But that is me, and I know a lot of people disagree with that. I wouldn't make a big issue of it - but if it was my house I would find another place somehow for the beer.

A kiddie-pool full of beer, not kids, goes over like a coffin filled with buffalo wings at a wake. I think respecting the pool's original intent -- while your company was still present anyway -- would have been more sensible. And I like cold beer.........

Well, you should have gotten a big bucket and filled it with water for the beer and let the kids have the pool. But, that's a man for you.

You did the right thing, so dont worry what your g/f says. A beer in not a good beer unless its cold. Besides if it was so hot out the cold cans could've cooled off the kids also. Next time hit her with a can, and once for me too.

That pool was full of piss, so she was probably mad. Tell her azz that your priorities had nothing to do with a daym pool. This is so minute that it shouldn't even be disscussed...get a cooler the next time, that way you don't have far to walk. Good luck
