From what I can gather, a man marries one women LEGALLY, then at a later date as he and his wife feel ready he marries another women SPIRITYALLY. So why is it illegal?

Because the majority of people think it is wrong. Also the second wife is not just a spiritual wife, there are definite physical things going on. Also because it is demeaning to women psychologically speaking

I Am Messing Around With A 54 Year Old Married Man And I Am 20 Years Old. I Been Messing Around With Him Since Last September 2005. Because no matter what government officials like to say there is not a seperation of church and state. Our entire law system i based on religious beleifs. If there was an actual true seperation of church and state laws would make a lot more sense to a lot of people. It even says In god we trust on our money and the hypocrites try to say that the church has no power or effect on government issues. But if you have a religion where the marriage of more than two people is legal like some menonite societies the government is at a loss of what to do about it. So its a double edged sword a lot of times helps some people discriminates against others.

It is an insult to women. How many times do you hear of a woman marrying a man legally and then marrying another man spirtiually? Polygamist men like having power over more women.

Because the leaders in this country, don't believe in that lifestyle. This is a christian country like it or not. We are not allowed to go out in our B-day suit either. This is a government controlled society as most are. Our's just happens to be freer than most. At least the Mormons are allowed to worship here as are all religions, at some point USA has drawn a line. The line could be re-drawn.

Oh, please - I know you don't believe that! And, what's the difference anyway? If it's true, the 'marrying another woman' "spiritually" is total bs. All the polygamist lifestyle really consists of is men who are not only closet pedophiles (a high percentage of their 'wives' are very, very young), but men who also manage to find women stupid and powerless enough as to allow their collective "husband" to f*ck and rule over them all - all in the name of God.

If polygamy is a man with multiple wives, what is a woman with multiple husbands? Or 2 women and 3 men? But I see your point. I think whatever grown people make with living arraingements is their own business.

I think it's only illegal to marry two women legally.
When I was a kid my friends dad had her mom living with him and his girlfriend.
No religious reason involved. Apparently they split up, and he came back with his girlfriend cuz he wanted to take care of the kids. He had two kids with his wife and one with his girlfriend After his wife's kids grew up, him and his girlfriend moved away with their child.

I would never want to live that lifestyle, but if someone else does they should be free to. They arent harming anyone.
