Do you base your selection on who best reiterates your point of view? Or do you base your selection on the best written, interesting, funny answer, regardless of whether not they agree with your position? I don’t think one way is better than the other, I’m just curious about what you guys do.

I base my best answer on the most concise, thorough answer to my question. If it confirms my point of view when I asked the question, it has a better chance of my choice of being the best answer. If it has additional information that I was not aware of and it is FACTUAL it also has a better chance.

The most short and to the point answer , and yes I do lean to those I agree with , but not always sometimes the answers are so hilarious I just can't help myself.

Usually, the best articulated internally consistent response. Someone who argues their position well, and with logical support.

Whether I agree with the conclusion or has no impact on the decision.

It depends on what kind of question it is. If it's an opinion question, I look for the most unique answer. If it is a factual question, I look for someone who answered the question correctly and succinctly (ie their answer wasn't 6 inches long).

usually on what i actually think a person put into the answer if they really thought about it and were sincere unless it was a funny question a funny answer or if i say first correct but usually just when i think a person is sincere and thought about it

Recently, I haven't been chosing many best answers. I've been putting them to a vote.
