In order for you to be happy as a grain of sand, you need to have suffered a whole beach.

Happiness is in your point of view, kid.
Suffering is a fact of life, but everything is not suffering.
I am happy to be alive.
I am happy to be part of the Whole and The One.
If you look at difficulties or obsticles as challenges to becoming a better you, you wouldn't be so miserable.

As the song goes:
"Don't worry. Be happy!"
Not Barney or Sponge Bob happy...
Plastic smiles don't fool anybody...

Find contentment in the moment, knowing that is what you should be doing.

Enjoy the laugh.
Lick the ice cream cone with ferocity.
Roll in the leaves.
Sing in the rain.

Cut the crap and shut down the self-inflicted pain!

This is the way God made life. To find one grain of happiness you have to search an entire field. Who knows? Maybe in Heaven there will be a field of happiness and a grain of sadness, and maybe this is the hope that keeps us good.
We are all humans, and like Jesus we have to carry our own crosses in life.
I know what you mean, life sometimes seems like a curse but you can't lose hope and faith that this will change, if you do then we have truly let ourselves be consumed by the darkness and despair.

You could change that to exactly the opposite statement and it would work the same way.

Happiness in relaxation after hard work.
Happiness in feeling the love of God.
Happiness in feeling good about your life.

Truly lasting happiness only will come after we work for it, but it will be better than the moments of pain taken to get there.

Happiness is when you get over the sad feeling, quit trying to be happy, achieve "positive thinking" without it being some kind of "feel-good" gimmick, get over your "self-fullfillment" urge which the people of the '70's tried and failed at, and get past the exam, hopefully passing, and see the high score or diploma or whatever mark of achievement that comes with it. Then you can be eternally joyful that God made you who you are, and see how non-productive it is for you to try to be somebody else, and be eternally joyful with Him. THAT'S where the happiness is. God Bless you.

It seems to me you are happy - in that you are one of those people who cannot fully be happy unless they are suffering, or feel they are suffering, or claim to be suffering, or tell others they are suffering - thus, you get attention because you are "suffering" and deep down you feel validated and happy.

Have a happy day.

No happiness can be counted on in this world, true happiness can only be found in Heaven and the door to heaven is Jesus.
On the other hand, you can have a lot of fun in the here and now!

It's all a state of mind. You have to want to be happy. I know it sounds like a bunch of b.s. but it's true. Trust me I'm a negative person by default, but lately I've been doing my best not to reflect on the bad things that have happened and the bad things that inevitably will happen. Rather I try to focus on the good things I can MAKE happen. That's right I have to make them happen, they wont just happen by themselves(normally).

Negative thinking is a rut that is easy to get into but definately difficult to pull ourselves out of. Challenge yourself to change your situation. Obviously something in your life is making you unhappy.

And don't think of work as suffering. Work isn't suffering, work is what makes the reward. It's not the destination, but the journey... or something like that. I sound corny I'm sure but I believe it.

You can just as easily substitute happiness for suffering.
