This is a sad day for both the animalworld and mankind. He will be deeply missed. He died the way which most of us wish we could, doing something he loved and believed in, doing what he did best. But living life on the edge sooner or later catches up with us that do and he paid the ultimate price for his donation to the betterment of mankind. Animals have a mind of their own and can turn on a human woithout notice and lightning speed. In my ventures I never met Steve but nevertheless had the upmost admiration and respect for him especially for what he did for the animals. He will surely be missed and will go down as a hero and someone for the younger generations to look up to. One of Gods unsong heroes. Hes probably going to be in charge of Heavens Animal Kingdom. We wont forget him ever.

He lived dangerously. I was shocked that he always tried to brush off the danger even when he took his infant son into the croc pen. He didn't seem to have to much concern over getting to close to some whales and penguins in the wild. (It's good for ratings, to hell with respecting the law) Also, he seemed to be willing to get close to George Bush. He does seem to have died through natural consequences of his attitude towards wildlife.

Yes I did know that. Heard it early this morning when I was in a chat room. Thought it was odd that he was killed by an animal that is not supposedly deadly or aggressive. And yes it is sad to lose someone so young.

He was an interesting man... I remember when he had his infant baby girl so close to a crocodile... Scared me to pieces... I saw it last night on the news and it saddened me too... He will be missed by lots of us who loved to see nature through his journeys... â¥
