Roosters can be very territorial ,

And See's your kids as a threat to him
(chickens are not very brainy!)

when i was young we used to have to walk past a farm
on our way to school ,
this evil, big black rooster, used rush out ,
to attack us every morning , !

I have kept chickens of my own since then
and not had a devil of a Rooster in my flock.
mine were all hatching's when i got them ,
so this may account for their friendly manner .

. but i know , first hand ,
how menacing a Rooster can be to a small child .

hens are much more gentle , though they can get grouchy when they are "broody".

The rooster may feel threatened by your children or it could be that the rooster does not like them near its territory.

Might be time to find a new home for the rooster. They don't make the best pets.

on the subject of the sole thank you to get a poultry to provide up attacking is save the poultry faraway from those issues that make him desire to attack. i for my area won't have a poultry that I ought to observe after in this implies. they are able to particularly rip a individual to ribbons in the event that they needed. This summer time I killed considered one of my roosters via fact he attacked my granddaughter. . . not as quickly as yet two times and that substitute into adequate. He did not harm her,he did not draw blood or perhaps scratch her yet while that poultry is prepared to attack someone he ought to finally end up particularly hurting somebody. end OF tale! P.S. that identical poultry had 12 hens and that i think of that makes a poultry even lots greater probable to attack if he thinks somthing or somebody is a risk to his territory.

He hates kids squealing and shrieking and chasing him and his harem all over the place; he pecks them so they will leave him alone, so why dont they just do that.
