There seems to be a point missed here...
An FTP client needs to connect to an FTP server.... not another client.
So, you'd need to upload your files (using FTP) to a host somewhere, so that the other person can then download them, the same way.

Here's a tip... check out ICQ, the IM package... it can handle very large file transfers, if you have a little patience and a stable connection. I've moved files larger than 100MB before now, quite successfully. It took a few hours but you can always leave it running overnight if you have to.

For smaller files, Yahoo IM works quite well

This often happens as quickly as you may desire to many sockets open and your host has set a decrease back to the form of concurrent connections allowed. you may desire to restart your FTP shopper to reset the connections and particular replace the settings to allow for decrease than 2 or 3 concurrent connections.

Don't know if it supports drag and drop (I think it does) but filezilla is good and free and has both a server and client version

I'm using FileZilla, it is almost drag and drop (between windows, like in any file manager).
