Just make sure you follow the directions very carefully and do not leave it in longer than the recommended time as it could lead to serious infection. My first time, I think it took me about 30 minutes to finally get the courage and get it done, but that was over 19 years ago! P.S. I wouldn't do generic brands, stick with the big names like Tampax.

At first, and especially since you are young, it might feel a bit uncomfortable/strange. It shouldn't hurt though - if it does you didn't put it in the right way. They are really easy to get used to though, and are actually a lot more comfortable than pads (for me, anyway). You can also do more things in them, like swimming, bike riding, etc. I don't use them too often, because once using a "no name" brand, the string broke! So if you do use one, make sure you get a good brand. Try Tampax Pearl - and don't get a larger size than you need! Make sure you can change it about every 4 hours, it's no good to keep it in there so long.

As for putting it in, it also might seem difficult at first. But it really isn't! Don't be afraid to "feel around" down there, even with just your fingers. You should get to know yourself and all your parts. You should find your vaginal opening easily. Once you know where that is, your insert the tampon - you can do this standing with your leg up on the toilet. You should insert it semi-diagonal, and it should be pointing toward your back, not straight up. Just experiment - don't worry, you won't get hurt! :)

ooo im the same age as u and i tried it on for the first time like a week ago. they dont hurt when u put it in and if u put it in far enough u dont feel it that much. when u take it out u have to pull kind of hard because your vaginal walls are tight and theyre holding the tampon in. and afterwards for like a minute it feels like someone stepped all over ur vagina... thats the only way i can explain it. but theres no real pain.

Get the junior ones they're super tiny. Ask your mom, sister, or an older friend about it. Also read the paper inside the box. Some girls have to wait until they're older though because the tampons are too big.

Go to this website and there are videos you can watch also other advice things.

At first tampons can be a little uncomfortable, but they shouldn't hurt. And if they do then you probably have it in wrong. Don't be afraid to ask your mom for advice or even help if you can't do it yourself. Your mom loves you and will help you if you really need it.

I didnt start using them until i was way older czuse i was scared now i LOVE them. Never use them when youre not on your period.....while you are on your period they shouldnt be hard to put in unless you are using some that are too big for you.Get the small or regular size and put it in while youre sitting on the toilet. You have to put it up and back....almost at a diagonal....And always read the instructions....!!!

its not that difficult trust me. Just experiment with them. That is the only way to figure it out.

You and the rest of the women in this world are not born knowing how to use tampons, we all figure it out the same way.

yeh they can hurt at first but once your used to them its fine. yeh you do it at a slight angle facing more your bk. but dont stick it up your bk hole by mistake aiming back wards tampon up the bum may cause slight discomfort. read the booklet you get in the pack with the tampons. aslo use tampons appropriate to your period i.e the larger super siz ones when you heavy n the smaller regular ones when your lighter.

Try putting some lubricating jelly on the end and relax and take your time. Once properly inside your vagina you won't even know it's there
