This is a matter of opinions, I know that it's technically morning, but I want to know what you'd call it instead. The Dead Hours for example, the best one get's my vote.

Nachlicht

Not very artsy but describes it well

Nachlicht meaning "after light" or "after lights"

Of course meant for before the sun begins to appear, which is then morning.

I've always heard that morning doesn't technically start until sunrise.

That timeframe is called Graveyard in the working world. Last season I believe it was on CSI: Vegas, it was nicknamed the "love hours" which I got a giggle from. But you can call it whatever you want.

You can call it the dog watch. I think that's what the military calls it. I guess it's the worst shift to have.
