L'Occitane is a great company for body lotions and cremes. Their products smell good, are based on natural ingredients and smell good!! I know its kind of expensive but once you buy a lotion duo it can last more than a year. Also, my advice on applying lotion is to put it on a night and after you come out of the shower. It really absorbs faster and stays like that longer then.
It may just be your skin type thats dry or it could be that you might need to work on improving eating, drinking, sleeping habits. They all influence your skin. I hope this helps, here's a website to L'Occitane, look around see if you like it.

Be careful about what you use to shower or bath with. Make sure that you use a shower gel with added moisturising agents. Many shower gels and nearly all soaps have a very drying effect on the skin. Choose pH neutral soaps with moisturiser like Dove, and good quality emollient shower gels like Sanex.

You can also use Oilatum in your bath water which is available from pharmacies. This is a very effective skin moisturiser, but be careful, it can make the bath very slippery!! Don't end-up with beautiful soft skin, and a broken-neck!

First, make sure you bathe with a gentle moisturizing soap. Secondly, after you get out the shower while your still damp- not soaking wet, massage your body with grape seed oil, almond oil, or extra virgin oil. Oil is better for dry skin because of its penetrating abilities, Vaseline is good but, it sit on the top layer of the skin. When your ready try mixing different light oils until you come -up with a formula that's just right for you.

Odd as it may sound, olive oil! It's been used here on the Mediterranean for centuries and is full of antioxidants etc.
Put a few drops on a cotton ball and smooth over dry skin after your bath; rub in well and it will be absorbed.
Excellent for healing chapped hands after painting, using abrasive cleansers, etc.
Olive oil on your salad etc. doesn't do any harm, either!

if your skin is extremely dry, like crocodile-elephant dry, then i think you should use something oily, the best (and cheapest) way would be to put vaseline in you hand then pour baby oil over it, rub your hands together then aplly where your skin is dry. Its very oily so it should help! :)
