I had a girlfriend that I was very tight with, we did everything together-vacations etc. Overtime, she had messed up and I had decided to let the friendship go. She'd call me and we'd still talk but that was as far as it goes. A few days ago she called to tell me she was engaged and will be getting married next year and wants me to be one of her bride's maids. What do you think?

Go for it although you may not still think of her as your best friend it sounds like she thinks of you as hers... Just think about all the good times you had together and focus on that and try to put the bad ones behind you, she may have changed her life around go have fun and find out you just might rekindle a friendship...Good Luck....:)

If you don't feel comfortable being her bride's maid just tell her! Tell her you two aren't as close as you used to be and you don't feel right. Tell her you still wanna attend her wedding though...if only for the free food and booze....but still...

you have to go really may be what happened was just a clash like what happen between friends if she had ever stop thinking about you she would never call annd ask you for this be the good to the end.
