Yes I totally agree with you, the nature of his job, was basicly he could be killed at any time, I watched he programmes and always thought , is hes gonna be died by now, and he is, its not a surprsing thing , these animal what he worked with , far , far to dangerous, he was taking the risk, and basicly, thats what his shows were about, him taking the brave step, when actly this brave step lead to a very fatal death, he knows it was coming, and may be he thought god, im brave never been near death, so went , deeper and deeper, to take his experiences further on ,to even more more dangous animals , because step by step he was becoming braver , excited, and now hes dead like you said an inevitable death, some people are dare devils, and believe that they can do this, but no one is perfect in any thing, any thing can go wrong, and it did, many people will now because of him, know that even the best dont make it , thats why people shouldnt play with fire, because fire spreads, you need to keep things to a limit , thats the way, and thats the senible and maturity to lead and very nice life and a long one, but unfortunate for irwin, he could have lived longer, and done many othet better things in life,

I don't beleve that he would ever have been killed by a snake or a crocodile - he was an expert on these animals and knew exactly what he was doing. This is where he started his career and if this was where he ended it he would still be here today.
Unfortunately fame is short lived, people began getting bored seeing him wrestling gators, they wanted more and more - in order to keep his career going he had to move onto other animals I.E - swimming with sharks & stingrays. These were animals he wasn't experienced with and he didn't understand. he was no better prepaired to face these dangerous animals than you or I - his personal danger level was 100x more than it was when he was working with Crocodiles - It is not a surprise he had an accident. It is a cruel twsit that it happened to be fatal.

It was an "unintended consequence" of his closeness to a stingray. I have caught many stingrays of approximately 12 inch diameter. I have seen the barb on the topside of the stingray's tail. I knew it could be painful if I didn't know how to hold the ray to get the fishing hook out of its mouth, but I never imagined it to be lethal.
My experience has been while fishing off of piers on both USA coasts and viewing rays and their cousins (forgot what they are called) in aquariums. They're typically "small". I have also seen movies of giant Manta Rays which could weigh "tons" but are described as docile ... don't know if their tails are barbed.
Anyhow, Steve was unlucky. It's totally natural to the human condition to be lucky or unlucky at times.

I think he'd of preferred it to be a croc that got him in the end, but you have to go sometime i don't think he was someone would of wanted to die in bed he was too active for that, ok it would of been better if he'd had an extra few decades but you cant prevent accidents that why they are accidents unfortunatly some like this one are fatal - this wasnt the first time he has been struck by an animal it was just the last

Everyone that I have talked to today thought the same thing. They said one of these days the croc's are going to get him. Come to find out that it was a sting-ray and the dang thing stung him in his heart with its tail?? I didn't know they we're so dangerous. I have actually seen them in the ocean where I was swimming with my kids! I want go near them anymore though!!

I guess it was, but he was he was so good at what he did, he seemed to be almost invincible. I was struck by the fact that despite hundreds of encounters with crocs, venemous snakes, and other extremely deadly creatures, he mate his fate at the hands of a Stingray.

I was only surprised by the fact that he is (apparently) only the second person to die as a result of an encounter with a Stingray.
