I was really surprised. He was killed by one of the most gentle creatures in the world. It is so sad. It doesnt seem like hes dead. He was only 44 years old. Thats really young to die. He battled with crocodiles and he got killed by a stingray? It was so sudden and I'm really sad. I feel bad for everyone in Australia and his family. He loved life and he is going to be missed.

I think he had it coming to him, but It's cool he did dangerous things all these years and didn't get badly hurt. I think it's good that died in a way that he enjoyed, by doing what he loved!

He knew the risks - they were worth it to him and his wife. What a way to go - doing something that you truly love. I feel sorrow for his children and family - but he lived life to the FULLEST!!

i think it was a little shocking that it was a sting ray and not a crocodile. i feel so very sad for his family. and for the cameramen who got the whole incident on tape.

Sad and shocking. But, as everyone keeps saying, he died doing what he loved to do best. Sympathies to his family.
